1. Guest-Initiated Cancellations
If you must cancel your booking, the refund amount will depend on the time remaining before your scheduled check-in:
15+ Days Notice
90% Refund
10% booking admin fee retained
7 to 14 Days Notice
50% Refund
50% deposit retained
Less than 7 Days
No Refund
100% of deposit retained
2. Weather & Force Majeure Cancellations
Kerala backwater cruises are highly dependent on weather conditions. In the event of:
- Weather Warnings: Orange/Red alerts, heavy storms, cyclones, or flooding.
- Government Boating Bans: Direct orders from District Tourism authorities or Department of Ports restricting lake movement.
In such instances, Madonna House Boat will offer the guest:
Options for Force Majeure Cancellation
- A 100% full refund of the booking deposit.
- A free reschedule to a mutually agreed future date of equal booking value within 12 months.
3. Refund Processing & Timelines
Once a refund is approved by our reservations team:
- Refunds will be processed back to the original payment channel (Bank Transfer, UPI, Credit Card, or Debit Card) used during booking.
- Refund payments are typically initiated within 2 business days. The funds will reflect in your account within 5 to 7 working days, depending on banking institution clearing times.
- Any transaction processing fees charged by the payment gateway/bank are non-refundable and will be deducted from the total refund amount.
